Whether leading public health campaigns to reduce maternal mortality, empower locally-led trauma-informed support groups, or prevent the spread of communicable diseases, Hicks' technological expertise and heart for humanity have made her uniquely qualified to save and improve lives worldwide.
Hicks equips, trains, and engages local faith-based volunteers across the United States and various parts of the world to address locally-identified humanitarian issues.

Dreaming of a program that could change the face of mental health access, Hicks works with partnering organizations on trauma-informed support group models to equip, train, and engage volunteers.This dream led to collaboration with The National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors to create Triumph Over Trauma, which has equipped, trained, and engaged volunteers in 9 countries, as well as 32 U.S. states.
